Life of a Military Wife!

Well it's been 3 years since I have had my own classroom to teach in and this evening I have an interview!!  I am beyond excited and completely 100% anxious at the same time.  The job is in NM where Andrew and I are being assigned and would be in a bilingual education classroom.  I do not have the endorsement to teach in that type of classroom, but the school system told me they are in desperate need of teachers and are willing to work with me.  When I sent in the application three days ago I also signed up to start taking classes to obtain my BLED endorsement.  I should be able to finish it by the end of next summer.  I am making lists right now, they calm me down.  If I get this job I am moving next week without my stuff, without a place to live, without a car, without my husband...BUT I'll have my dog, a job, and most importantly my God.

I feel like I'm putting the cart before the horse, but wanted to write about some of the practical things we go through as military wives.  Andrew is deployed and if I get this job there is a small chance I wouldn't be able to come back and be here when he returns.  I would be adding almost 2 months onto our separation.  I can't look at the "what-ifs" right now, I need to focus on getting ready for my interview tonight and getting things organized around my house.  Wish me luck!!

Jeremiah 29:11--Porque yo sé muy bien los planes que tengo para ustedes--afirma el Señor,--planes de bienestar y no de calamidad, a fin de darles un futuro y una esperanza.

ahhh!!!

The Lord is completely amazing.  It's 0815 on a Saturday morning (which is a gorgeous day btw) and I've been up for a few hours thanks to jet lag.  I have a lot on my mind (all good things) and needed to sit down and make a list and I thought I would blog too!  Here is my to-do list for today...

  • run
  • unpack
  • weed the yard
  • take care of recycling (maybe lol)
  • figure out how to get ahold of my Praxis scores for teaching (having these will help me obtain a new license in a different state when we move)
  • buy food :)
  • hang out with friends
  • NAP  (all caps b/c it's the most important)
There are a few other things on the list but I don't want to post them yet.  The Lord is definitely leading Andrew and I somewhere and I thank him for giving me a heart to follow.  Phew...amazing how writing things down calms my heart!!  Thank you Lord for the amazing husband you have given me and the opportunities you have placed in front of us.  Thank you for allowing us to rest in Your arms as we make decisions concerning our future!

The 4th of July

Happy Independence Day!!!  As it is coming to a close I am laying in bed listening to many booms outside.  The 4th of July has always been my favorite holiday but it holds much more meaning for me now that I am a military wife and my husband is in the desert.  The sacrifices he and his fellow military members are making definitely hit home this weekend.  I am so proud of everything he is doing so I can lay here and write whatever I please.

Thank you Andrew for everything you do for this country so we may continue to enjoy the freedoms we have on a daily basis.  You are truly a hero and I love you with all my heart!

God Bless the USA!

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

what a difference 5 weeks makes!

Man, I must say I didn't think I would do it, but I ran 40 minutes tonight!!!  It was day one of week 6.  Week 1 I was worried about running for 15 minutes and tonight I did 40!!!  I know I am capable of anything I set my mind to, but I am actually starting to enjoy running again...uh oh!!  Can't wait until I can say I have run a 10k!

Another happy note I have officially hit 30lbs on the weight loss adventure.  I still have a ways to go, but I am getting there.  Slow and steady wins the race.  I know it will stay off this time...I'm not going through this again unless I have a baby to show for it, LOL!!!

Happy Tuesday night to all!!

Ciao ciao world!

Happy Birthday Andrew!!!

25 years ago unbeknownst to me an adorable little boy was born in Kwangju, South Korea.  He would later grow up and become my husband.  God has truly blessed this world with an amazing man of God that I am so lucky to call my husband!

This is the second year in a row Andrew and I have been apart on his birthday.  Last year I was in North Carolina meeting our nephews for the first time and this year he is away.  I know as a military family we will spend many holidays and special occasions apart, but I will do my best to make them count when we are together.  I was able to send him a few small gifts and some cakes.  He seemed to enjoy everything, but I can't wait for a time when we get to spend his special day together.  I am missing him a lot today!!!

Happy Birthday Andrew James!  You are an amazing man and I am so thankful to have you in my life!!!

2 months are over!

Yesterday was 2 months since Andrew has left.  Hopefully time will keep passing at a decent pace.  We are getting close to half way!!  I miss him terribly and this week with all the rain has been a very very blah week, but that is to be expected.  Dolce is continuing to be good company, although she's a tad crazy when I'm on Skype with Andrew.  She hears him and she goes nuts looking for him.  Funny and sad at the same time.  I got his birthday stuff mailed off and did my best to be creative.  We shall see what he thinks :)  I will be sending our anniversary package from my parents house.

Something is up with my internet and I cannot figure out what is wrong with it!  Some sites are refusing to load.  I have reset, restarted, rebooted everything I can think of and it's still not working.  OH well, so it goes.

Dolce and I have been laying around today.  We ran/walked the base perimeter today.  It is 5.8 miles.  We ran 3 miles and walked the rest.  It was a great workout.  I am starting to add up miles but am going to have to get a LOT more in to meet my goal by October!  Hopefully I can get some long bike rides in while I'm in the states.

Went to biblegateway.com to find a bible verse and the perfect one was the verse of the day.  "He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”” Psalm 46:10 NIV

Good night world!
